Why Insects?
In order to feed a growing global population in a sustainable way and increase protein intake in countries with high malnutrition rates, a low cost and energy efficent food source needs to be integrated. Insects require far less space, water, energy, and time when compared against livestock species. Furthermore, the use of insects to feed chickens and fish could increase terminal weights and shorten production time therefore encouraging the successful global production of more sustainable and accessible food.

To increase protein consumption in areas with high malnutrition rates, our team would like to create a low-cost, easy to assemble and maintain, insect housing and breeding system.
